Chinrasta's Time
When Chinrasta began her ministry, the Kasshi used numerous foreign currencies. One of the most popular coins was a silver one known as an ila (star). This could be cut into six pieces, known as "slices". Various local copper coins also circulated. Chinrasta unified the various currencies, establishing a standard copper coin, at the value of 1/24 ila, and began minting silver coins along the standard of the ila.

Early Second Empire
By the founding of the Second Empire, the ila had lost significant value. At the time of Chalanya, there were copper coins of 3-copper, 6-copper and highly debased silver coins of ½ ila, ila, 2-ila, 6-ila.
Chalana re-established the currency, issuing a recoinage. The main coin was now the saklas (literally "moon") valued at 16 ilai. The new saklas was 3.20 grams of 11/12 fine silver. The new coins were

The currency was debased considerably during her reign, falling to just 1/3 fine and 1.83 g. In the time of the civil wars, the coins were increasingly debased by each of the rival states, leaving a chaotic currency upon the restoration of order
Early Third Empire
With the Empire reunited, a new currency was created. Known as the vazhi, it was worth about 12 of the pre-civil war saklachi, a coin approximately 8.09 grams at 11/12 fine. The new system was 1 vazhi = 12 saklachi = 192 ilai New coins were

In addition, a foreign coin known as the kalpan, after its place of origin, circulated at the value of a little over 6½ vazhá, along with the smaller half-kalpan and quarter-kalpan, valued proportionally.
Over the course of the Third Empire, the coins became somewhat debased and reduced in size.
Fourth Empire
The Fourth Empire inherited the coinage common to the Third Empire, reforming it and officially adding the chan (plural tran), a large gold coin valued at 9 vezh (singular vezh, the modern form of vazhii), creating the currency system 1 chan = 9 vezh = 108 sash = 1728 vi
The value of the Chan remained largely stable over the course of the Fourth Empire, though in its collapse, significant inflation destroyed the currency.
Fifth Empire
